Prof Stephen Nason, Professor of Business Practice in the Department of Management, has been awarded the 2012 Michael G. Gale Medal for Distinguished Teaching at HKUST for his "enthusiasm for teaching" and his "impact on student learning". The Selection Committee was also impressed by Prof Nason's student-centered pedagogy, which focuses on experiential and active learning.

The Medal, the University's highest accolade in teaching, is awarded each year to an academic colleague "who best exemplifies continued pursuit of excellence, devotion to teaching, and the ability to inspire and motivate others". Prof Nason was presented with the award at the University's 20th Congregation on 15 November, 2012.
