A team of HKUST Business School's undergraduate students won the 2012 HSBC/McKinsey Business Case Competition held from 6-7 June in Hong Kong.
This year's competition was very intense with participation from 16 universities from the region. Each team was given two and a half hours to analyze a business strategy case in each round. The teams were then given 20 minutes to present and 10 minutes to address questions from a panel of judges comprising of senior business executives.
The HKUST team, comprising four Year 1 undergraduate students, Jessica Kwok, Kenny Ng, Philip Chan and Rex Sin, from the School's Global Business Program, took home the championship after completing four case analyses in two days. They received cash prize of HK$20,000 and were awarded internships with HSBC or McKinsey & Company.
