Professor Donnel Briley won the 2001 Robert Ferber award for his paper "Reasons as Carriers of Culture: Dynamic versus Dispositional Models fo Cultural Influence on Decision Making", co-authored with Michael Morris and Itamar Simonson.

The award is given to the best dissertation-based article in the Journal of Consumer Research during the pervious year. The journal is one of the world's top three publications in marketing.
