As the only academic partner of Deloitte China’s Best Managed Companies (BMC) program, HKUST Business School is deepening its engagement with leading private enterprises and translating management experience into academic and industry impact. Dean Prof. Frederik ANSEEL notes that the partnership is helping reshape the growth paradigm of Chinese enterprises. By bridging business education and corporate management practice, our School brings high-value cases from leading companies into teaching and research, builds a practical knowledge ecosystem, and develops AI-ready leaders for industry.

This commitment was reflected at the 8th BMC Award Ceremony held in Xiong’an, a national-level development zone southwest of Beijing. HKUST Business School joined Deloitte in celebrating the achievements of 80 leading private enterprises. Selected through a rigorous six-month evaluation process, the award-winning companies demonstrated strong operational capabilities, significant revenue scale, sustained investment in R&D, and a combination of AI capabilities and management expertise—strengths that position them to navigate increasingly complex global markets.

The BMC program provides a valuable platform for HKUST Business School to learn from these companies, while sharing its academic expertise. Through collaboration among academia, industry and business leaders, the School is helping private enterprises navigate economic cycles, strengthen management capabilities, harness AI and drive productivity, and building resilient and competitive advantages in global markets.
