What does leadership look like in a world reshaped by AI, economic uncertainty, and increasingly borderless careers? That was one of the questions at the heart of the HKUST MBA team’s recent journey across Asia. The journey, with stops in Jakarta, Singapore, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, and Hong Kong connected with talented professionals exploring new possibilities for their careers.
The question also surfaced in different forms: How to lead teams through disruption? How to build authority in a market outside your own? How to make confident decisions with incomplete information in an uncertain industry? What tied these conversations together was not industry or geography. It was a recognition that leadership today is less about having all the answers and more about navigating ambiguity, building judgment, and leading people who are themselves uncertain about the future of their industries.
We were delighted to be joined by HKUST MBA alumni throughout the tour. By sharing experiences, insights, and career journeys, they offered prospective students a valuable perspective on the HKUST MBA experience - and the opportunities that can follow. Their continued support reflects the strength of the HKUST MBA community: a network that connects, collaborates, and gives back long after graduation.
