The journey ahead starts now. This year, our MSc students are getting a head start through career workshops, professional guidance and meaningful connections with alumni mentors.
MSc Career Orientation
The 2026 MSc Career Orientation was held at the Shaw Auditorium in August, welcoming approximately 1,600 students from the Business School MSc programs.
The orientation commenced with a keynote address by Mr. Raymond XIAO, Head of MSc Career Development Office (below pictured in the left). He presented a comprehensive overview of the career services offered, delineated the recommended job-seeking timeline, and offered professional guidance on career preparation and development.
Subsequently, two interactive workshops provided hands-on training to further sharpen students' employability skills. The orientation marked the very start of students' career journeys, connecting them with professional resources and support early in their MSc studies. By setting a clear roadmap from day one, the MSc Career Orientation helps students build confidence and direction, laying a solid foundation for their future career success.
MSc Mentorship Program Kicks Off
The MSc Mentorship Program 2026/27 officially commenced with its kick-off ceremony in September. The event marked the beginning of the third cohort of the Program, bringing together more than 270 mentors and mentees from across the HKUST Business School MSc community.
The ceremony provided mentors and mentees with an opportunity to meet for the first time and establish new connections. Featuring a series of ice-breaking activities and group experiences at Ocean Park, the event encouraged profound interactions and laid a strong foundation for a rewarding mentorship journey ahead.
Now in its third year, the Program continues to connect experienced alumni with MSc students, facilitating the exchange of professional insights, broadening perspectives, and supporting participants’ personal and professional development.
We were honoured to have Mr. Chris TSANG, Assistant Dean (Administration) and MSc Program Director, join the event and deliver encouraging remarks. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Ms. Salad KWOK, Head of MSc Programs, for her continued support and presence at the ceremony.
Thank you to all our mentors and mentees—here’s to a year of learning and growing together!
