Across the Business School, new students began their new academic by connecting with classmates and faculty through a range of activities. From welcoming more than 1,000 freshmen at an orientation to panel sessions connecting students past and present, these first moments set the stage for an exciting year ahead.
Welcoming Over 1,000 Freshmen
More than 1,000 freshmen from 37 countries and regions came together for the School’s Welcome and Orientation. The event gave our newest students a chance to meet new friends, make connections, and kick off an exciting new chapter at HKUST.
Prof. Frederik ANSEEL, Dean of HKUST Business School, and Prof. SIU Kam Wing, Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs, encouraged students to embrace new opportunities, pursue their aspirations and make the most of their university experience.

Freshmen took part in a series of interactive activities, including a paper-plane exercise and a goal-setting session, designed to inspire reflection on their ambitions and foster connections with new classmates. The program was further energized by performances from the KSA Band and the Dance Society, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
