The newly launched Center for Technology and Business Ecosystem is at the forefront of this mission, focusing on how emerging technologies like AI and robotics are reshaping business strategies and industry landscapes. Drawing on practices from technology firms in China, the Center fosters exchanges between academia, industry, and policymakers, offering insights to help businesses thrive amid technological disruption.

Advancing Cybersecurity Innovation with HKMA

In a strategic partnership, the School signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) to advance cybersecurity innovation tailored to Hong Kong’s financial sector. By combining the School’s research expertise with HKMA’s regulatory insights, the collaboration aims to develop practical applications, enhance awareness of emerging cyber threats, and cultivate specialized talent. The partnership will explore cutting-edge supervisory and regulatory technology solutions, leveraging technologies like large language models to bolster the sector’s resilience.

Promoting Virtual Asset Sector Development

The School is shaping the virtual asset sector through its survey series on public attitudes toward virtual assets and tokenized money. The latest findings provide actionable insights for policymakers, regulators, and finance professionals, offering recommendations to foster the sector’s growth in Hong Kong.

Expanding Global Reach

Expanding its global footprint, the School has forged new academic ties and strategic partnerships. A delegation of senior leaders visited leading institutions in the Middle East, including King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, King Saud University, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, and the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman College of Business & Entrepreneurship, to cultivate collaboration opportunities. Additionally, a new partnership with the Cambodia University of Science and Technology strengthens the School’s regional influence in family business and entrepreneurship education.

Talent Development in Web3 Innovations

In talent development, the School’s Center for Business and Social Analytics, in collaboration with the Investor and Financial Education Council and Cyberport, organized a Web3 Innovations Ideathon. The event showcased the creativity of over 150 students representing various local tertiary institutions, highlighting Hong Kong’s potential in the Web3 landscape.

New Frontier in Accounting Education

Furthering its commitment to specialized education, the School partnered with KPMG and Griffith University to launch Asia’s first Master of Science in Accounting concentration in financial crime and forensic accounting. This concentration equips students for careers in financial crime investigation, anti-money laundering, and counter- terrorism financing, addressing the global demand for expertise in these critical areas.

Strengthening Alumni Ties, Promoting Life-long Learning

The School strengthened its alumni network through a vibrant gathering in Shenzhen, fostering lifelong learning and connections. The event featured a forum on “Rewiring the Global Economy,” providing timely insights into navigating today’s dynamic market landscape.
