The HKUST Business School Advisory Council consists of 30 prominent business leaders. Its annual meeting is an important occasion during which the School administration receives valuable advice and guidance to help it chart the way forward.
This year’s meeting was held on October 8, 2020. For the first time, it was organized on campus in a hybrid mode where members could attend in person or online. Council Chairman Dr Hans Michael JEBSEN presided over the meeting, which was joined by almost all of the members.
The half-day meeting started with remarks made by HKUST President Prof SHYY Wei and Provost Lionel NI, who introduced the latest developments at the University. Members expressed great interest in the exciting HKUST (Guangzhou) Project. The first phase of the project’s construction is scheduled for completion by mid-2022.
Following a presentation made by Prof TAM Kar Yan, the Dean of the Business School, members offered numerous solid recommendations. Members advised the school to build on its strengths and ride on the new wave of opportunities offered by the challenging post-COVID economy.
