With the objective to bridge the gap between academic research and industry practice, HKUST Business School and Tsinghua University join hands to organize a new research seminar series titled “Digital Economy Expert Perspectives” (DEEP). This series provides a platform for top-notch scholars to share their research insights that have significantly influenced the digital economy.
The first seminar of the series, “Fintech Industry for Chinese Fixed Income Markets”, was conducted by Dr. HE Hua, Professor of Financial Practice at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business and co-founder of 9M Technologies Limited. Dr. He provided an insightful overview of the global and Chinese Fintech industry landscape. He shared how recent development in fintech, such as analytics, has shaped the Chinese fixed income market, and viewed that the Chinese fintech industry is still burgeoning with further development yet to come.
This inaugural seminar saw an enthusiastic turnout of faculty members and graduate students. Going forward, the DEEP series will contribute to fostering closer collaboration between Tsinghua University and the HKUST Business School.
