Under the project “Developing Hong Kong as a Global Green Finance Centre”, supported by the Theme-based Research Scheme (TRS) 2021/22 of the Research Grants Council (RGC) of the Hong Kong Government (project no. In this video, Sub-task 4.2 outlines its efforts to develop an emerging climate early warning system that identifies and tracks unusual climate-related disruptions. By utilizing big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, the project scans global news and scientific reports to detect these disruptions, helping governments, businesses, and communities prepare for unexpected events and providing critical real-time insights to enhance resilience against emerging climate risks.
