In this video, the team from Sub-task 4.1 showcases the development of a blockchain-based carbon information management system for the construction industry, starting with one of its most carbon-intensive materials: concrete. In collaboration with industry partners, and with the use of blockchain technology, the team is creating a secure, transparent, and tamper-proof system to track, account for, and report upfront carbon emissions across the construction supply chain, facilitating credible net-zero claims and driving climate action.
