Professor Vidhan Goyal, Head of the Department of Finance, has been selected the “Professor of the Year” by the 18th Cohort of the Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA Program. This honour recognises Professor Goyal’s consistent and successful efforts to bring new teaching techniques and ideas to the program.
“It is a real honor to be voted the best professor! This is the most meaningful honor I have received and so it will remain,” said Professor Goyal. “We have some of the best professors at both HKUST and Kellogg who are constantly challenging the boundaries of what could be taught and the way it is taught. So, it is a great privilege to be a part of this group.
“Good teaching cannot happen in an environment that is not supportive both intellectually and emotionally, and I am lucky to have had the support of my colleagues and the school and university leadership. Mostly, I want to thank my students for keeping me on my toes. Teaching KH students is quite challenging - they have critical minds and are very dedicated to learning and applying that learning to improve the world around us. They have helped me see finance in ways that are different from the finance I think I know well.”
