The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology's School of Business and Management (HKUST Business School) placed No. 25 in a worldwide ranking of business school research conducted by the University of Texas at Dallas. The ranking came on the heels of another prestigious ranking by Financial Times in January where HKUST ranked No.20 in the world in research.
The top-25 positions were dominated by US schools with the exception of HKUST and one European school, INSEAD (15th). HKUST was also the only Asian Pacific school that hit the top-50 list, ahead of many renowned schools including Cornell (28th), UC Berkeley (29th), London Business School (34th), and Yale (39th).
The researchers at the University of Texas at Dallas studied the research contributions of business schools based on their publications in 22 leading business journals in the period between 2000-2005. A total of 100 schools were ranked, including 83 schools from the US, 6 from Asia, 6 from Canada, 4 from Europe and 1 from Australia.
