The School has welcomed high-caliber students to its undergraduate programs in the new academic year. The 2023 intake has shown high levels of academic achievements and diversity, as evidenced by a number of indicators.
The Global Business (GBUS) program has admitted students with the best DSE results among all HKUST business programs, with a mean score of 7.6 for the five best subjects. The median score of GBUS students has also risen from last year. The GBUS and Quantitative Finance programs admitted students scoring five 5** in their DSE exams.
The School has also attracted high performers from various non-DSE curricula. Not only did the School admit IB top scorers for five years in a row, but also maintained a high GCEAL intake average grade (A* A A), with the top performer achieving 5 A*. Higher scores in the Joint Entrance Exam were also recorded among the 2023 intake.
With students from 17 different countries, the 2023 intake showcases the School’s international diversity. Intake from Mainland China, Taiwan, and Macau has increased by 18%, with a rapid increase from Taiwan. The School has also admitted students from more different provinces across Mainland China.
