The School is proud to announce that 61 students and alumni from HKUST EMBA, Kellogg-HKUST EMBA and MBA programs successfully finished the grueling Xuanzang Road Business School Gobi Challenge at Dunhuang, China. This year, it was the first time for the Business School to have a mix of alumni and students from different postgraduate programs as representatives.

Our EMBA and MBA teams not only demonstrated physical strength, teamwork, and perseverance throughout the trial but also achieved remarkable results. They brought home the Shackleton Award, Succession Excellence Award, the Most Creative Video, Endeavor Award, Team Style Award, Merit Award, and the Double Stars Sparkling Award. On top of that, our MBA team, regardless of being the first-time joiner, earned 4th place in the Challenge.

The Challenge is a cultural experience, in which participants have to finish a 121-km race through the Gobi Desert within four days. Over 5,000 participants from more than 50 business schools around the world came together for this unique experience in early May.

Congratulations again to all the participants! As part of the HKUST community, you have lived up to the can-do spirit of HKUST!
