Cross-University MBA Students Unite for Sports Tournament
MBA students from various universities in Hong Kong came together in early March for the very first cross-university MBA sports tournament. The event, organized and initiated by our Full-time MBA students of Intake 2023, was a massive success after five-month preparation.
The tournament was officiated by Prof. Stephen SHIH, Associate Dean of MBA Programs. Over 100 MBA students from CUHK, HKU, CityU, and HKUST competed in football, basketball, and badminton games. The fun-filled day also presented a great opportunity for networking and bringing a closer bond among like-minded peers.
We are proud to see our MBA students take the initiative to organize such an event that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and a sense of wider community. A big shout out to the full-time MBA class representatives Sharon ZHENG and Aritsune ENDO for organizing this amazing event. We congratulate all the participants and thank the class representatives and co-organizers for making this happen. We look forward to the next MBA sports tournament, which promises to be yet another exciting day of friendly competition and community building.
Finance Faculty and Students Compete Head-to-head in Sports Day
In mid-March, the Department of Finance (FINA) organized a Sports Day with over 80 participants, including professors of the department and their family members, teaching staff, PhD students, and students from BSc Quantitative Finance (QFIN).
QFIN students formed teams playing against FINA professors and PhD students in basketball matches (on the left) - with moments that our students posed “real challenges” to the faculty! Participants of different ages enjoyed table-tennis (on the right) very much. They are not just well-trained for research, but also table-tennis!
The badminton games (on the left) attest to the firm commitment of our department to excellence, no matter in which contexts. Teamwork is always the key to success. The professors and their family demonstrated the importance of working as a team, as they won both the 3-legged race (in the middle) and drawing games (on the right)!
The final champion went to a team of staff member, which is formed by professors, their family members, and PhD students.
