Associate Dean Professor XU Yan has recently been appointed by the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR Government to serve as a member of the Unsolicited Electronic Messages (Enforcement Notices) Appeal Board (UEMAB) for a term of three years from December 22, 2022.

Established in 2007, UEMAB under the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau of HKSAR serves to determine appeals against enforcement notices or any part of the enforcement notices related to sending commercial electronic messages served by the Communications Authority.

Prof. Xu was also invited to join the Hong Kong Government’s Task Force of Anti-spamming from 2008-2011. The Task Force was set up to advise Government on policies and measures to tackle the problem of unsolicited electronic messages.
