The HKUST Business School is very delighted to receive a generous donation of HK$2.5 million from our Adjunct Professor Larry FRANKLIN and his wife Mei Kwong FRANKLIN, to mark the completion of their pledge to students’ expenses to participate in international business plan and case competitions.
Reaching a total giving of more than HK$7.5 million to HKUST, they have established endowments to support student scholarships, overseas learning internships, and international business plan and case competitions. The gift also recognizes and rewards outstanding contributions by our faculty through the Franklin Prizes for Excellence in Teaching.
This academic year marks the 25th year of Larry as our adjunct professor. As a committed and long-standing supporter of the School, Larry’s satisfaction at supporting worthwhile educational causes is only matched by his love of teaching and his family’s philosophy-- educating oneself and others.
Professor TAM Kar Yan, Dean of HKUST Business School, expresses his profound gratitude to Larry, the living embodiment of the spirit of giving. Prof. Tam hopes that this example will motivate more to see the significance of giving and extending opportunities for others, and further reinforce the giving culture at HKUST so that more students and faculty can benefit in the years to come.
