HKUST Business School’s Master of Science (MSc) Programs’ intake for 2023-24 is now open for application. The MSc Virtual Week was organized in the first two weeks of November attracting hundreds of participants from all over the world. Through this unique opportunity, the prospective students were able to connect with the Academic Directors, alumni and program representatives, and thus benefited from an insightful peek into our MSc programs.

MSc Virtual Week included several highlighted events, such as information webinars, sample classes, virtual coffee chats with alumni, and individual consultations.

MSc Programs Develop Essential Skills to Succeed in the Dynamic and Challenging Industry

Our MSc programs endeavor to continually nurture professionals and talent with innovative and emerging insights to navigate the dynamic business world. We are committed to preparing our graduates to be future leaders in different industries. During the webinar sessions, our Academic Directors shared their views and strengths about the programs.


Academic Director of MSc in International Management (MIMT) program Professor Ellick WONG remarked that the program team has a strong commitment to helping our MSc students in developing a professional career.


To better equip our students, our curriculum is carefully designed, combining the best practices in investment management and financial analysis. Professor CHEN Zhanhui, Academic Directorof MSc in Finance (MFin) program, explained, “From time to time, we would review the curriculum to provide the most up-to-trend knowledge.”


Professor Lancelot JAMES, Academic Director of MSc in Business Analytics (MSBA) program, pointed out that, “The vision of the MSBA program is to develop students into skilled professionals that are able to leverage data for value creation, optimizing decision-making processes and driving effective strategy in a business context, which are highly coveted by firms.”


Professor Kristiaan HELSEN, Academic Director of MSc in Marketing (MScMARK) program, realizes that employers are facing challenges in finding right candidates for specialized digital marketing roles. “We equip students with the cutting-edge knowledge, tools and decision frameworks to tackle real-world marketing challenges and become leading and responsible marketing professionals – to jumpstart their marketing career.”


“We have strong industry collaboration and lots of corporate partners. They will come to our school for seminars and we will go to their companies for site visits,” said Professor LI Qing, Academic Director of MSc in Global Operations (MSGO) program. “Our graduates have entered various industries, including financial services, eCommerce, technology and global manufacturing, and more.”


Professor Tony SHIEH, Academic Director of MSc in Accounting (MSAC) program, indicated, “Our students have a lot exposure to not only fulfill requirements by accounting professional organizations, but also capture knowledge and techniques they need for a future career path. Our employers especially appreciate these training and qualities of our students.”
