Blockchain has significantly changed the way of data access, storage, retrieval, and information discovery, and is increasingly important to modern businesses. In light of that, the Fintech Research Project invited Mr. Simon SYWAK, a veteran of the digital markets and a highly seasoned financial services executive, to share his unique experience and insights on using blockchain for modern businesses with HKUST students in May. The two-hour webinar attracted close to 100 students in attendance.
In this first webinar of the “Finfluencer – thoughts from industry experts” series, students had the opportunity to learn about Simon’s first-hand experience as COO of Vaultex with practical use cases of blockchain technology and its importance and impact on modern business and society. Students were excited to interact and connect with a highly seasoned professional to explore the future of the digital assets industry, with many good questions raised. They had gained practical market knowledge and the understanding of the work of a fintech professional.
As part of the ongoing efforts of fintech talent development, the Fintech Research Project continues to be a platform to connect industry practitioners and students via various activities. The “Finfluencer” series will see more industry experts sharing how financial technology is applied and making impacts on today’s financial services.
