Mr. CAI Yongjun, alumnus of HKUST EMBA program (Class of 2011), attended the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic as a team leader of the Chinese National freeski and snowboard cross-team. This is the first time a Chinese team has participated in ski and snowboard cross events.
Mr. Cai founded Sunyu Co. Ltd in 1996 – a leading IP and globalization services provider. As a successful entrepreneur, he is also enthusiastic about serving the community, particularly in sports due to his educational background as a sports degree holder.
In response to the Chinese Government’s initiative to utilize all resources to develop its national sports, Mr. Cai worked closely with the General Administration of Sport in China to organize various sports events, and invested in many sports facilities around the country. Migu Shanpao (咪咕善跑) – a popular mobile app for sports fans in China – was also developed by one of his companies.
Since December 2018, Mr. Cai has been a member of the Chinese Olympic Committee due to his significant contribution to the development of sports in the country. In 2021, Mr. Cai led the Chinese National skateboarding team to Tokyo Olympics. This was the first time for a Chinese team to participate in the event.
