Coming from various continents around the world, the MSc in Global Finance (MSGF) Class of 2021 has committed themselves to their studies during this challenging time.
After a year of hard work, the cohort presented its final module of integrative project group presentation – the capstone module of the MSGF program – in a real-time mixed mode format. The team demonstrated how to integrate financial knowledge into their practical projects. Their presentation also showed a thorough quantitative analysis of real-life cases related to family business, bitcoin, green finance, and human capital in finance.
This was also our first time engaging the MSGF alumni where they formed the alumni judging panel and provided students with a fresh and professional perspective.
Congratulations to the MSGF Class of 2021! They have truly reinvented themselves and enhanced their competitiveness in the new normal.
Furthermore, the program office also welcomed the Class of 2022, the 15th intake of the MSGF program. International student diversity is the essence of such a truly global program. The cohort consists of students from 17 nationalities, including countries as far as Chile, and 13 work locations with an average of 11 years of work experience. This is also the first time for us to welcome students from Kuwait, Morocco, and Rwanda.
Under the new normal, we have restructured the program module to accommodate the uncertainties surrounding COVID-19. Instead of conducting the entire module in Hong Kong, the first course of the module on “Foundations of Corporate Finance” was conducted by Professor Kasper NIELSEN on our Hong Kong campus, and the second course on “Global Macro and Asian Markets” was conducted by Professor Tom PUGEL on the New York University campus.
Although some students could only join us virtually, we are thrilled to see everyone actively participate in class. Despite being separated by time zones and geographical locations, technology has brought us together and helped overcome various learning boundaries.
