Last month, the Green and Sustainable Finance Cross-Agency Steering Group, co-chaired by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Securities and Futures Commission, announced its latest strategies for Hong Kong’s financial ecosystem transition towards carbon neutrality as well as the successful launch of the Centre for Green and Sustainable Finance. Aligning with the School’s key focus to promote green and sustainable finance, we are honored to be co-chairing the Capacity Building Working Group (represented by Professor Allen HUANG) of the Center and also as a member of the Data Working Group (represented by Professor Kai-Lung HUI), to support the city’s sustainable transition.

Talent and data are priority actionable areas in the “brown to green” transition for Hong Kong. Our faculty will collaborate with members to develop strategies and roadmaps and consult with other stakeholders to devise practical recommendations for the financial industry. Our work at the Center will also contribute to driving Hong Kong’s financial development towards a more sustainable pathway.
