On April 21, MBA alumna Ms Cindy CHOW, Executive Director of the Alibaba Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund, was featured in the online Economics Industry Talk on “Transforming Hong Kong through Entrepreneurship”. Cindy provided valuable insights on the entrepreneurial landscape of Hong Kong and explained its importance to help the city’s economy thrive. She also shared details on the distribution of private venture capital funding to Hong Kong startups and various ways for entrepreneurs and young people to realize their dreams.
Breer, a food up-cycling startup found by a group of HKUST students, also joined the event and shared their experience and challenges of setting up the company in Hong Kong. The company tackles Hong Kong’s food waste issues by brewing unsold bread collected from bakeries into beer. Watch the event recording.
