Last month, HKUST awarded honorary doctoral degrees and fellowships to ten distinguished individuals to recognize their achievements and remarkable contributions in their fields. Of the ten individuals, two are faculty members from the Business School.
Professor CHAN Ka-Keung Ceajer is one of the honorary doctoral degree awardees. A Senior Advisor to the Dean and Professor Emeritus in Finance, Professor Chan’s rich expertise and experience has contributed towards shaping Hong Kong as Asia’s financial hub, connecting China with the international financial world and supporting the development of higher education in Hong Kong. Between 2007 and 2017, Professor Chan served as the Secretary for Financial Services and Treasury of the HKSAR Government before re-joining HKUST.
Professor Caroline WANG Chia-Ling, an outstanding female business leader and Adjunct Professor, received an honorary fellowship. With over 30 years of experience working at IBM as the highest-ranking Asian female executive globally, Professor Wang played an important role in facilitating the appointment of female leaders in the Asia-Pacific region. Her contribution towards HKUST reaches further than the classroom and has spearheaded a number of key initiatives for the university in ensuring gender diversity in several international MBA and EMBA programs.
Congratulations to Professors Chan and Wang!
