In May, SCMP published two articles written by Prof HUI Kai Lung, Elman Family Professor of Business and Chair Prof of Information Systems, and Prof Anirban MUKHOPADHYAY, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies and Lifestyle International Prof of Business respectively.

He also co-authored another article with Prof Ivan PNG of the National University of Singapore in Straits Times (subscription required) on how Singapore can reduce its dependence on foreign labor through a fundamental review of the desired outcomes of economic, social and other policies.

Prof Mukhopadhyay’s article explored how our values towards education has shifted as the pandemic initiated a major shift to online learning. His article also looked at whether Hong Kong’s exam-focused education could be justified (To Read)

Prof Alminas ZALDOKAS, Assistant Prof, Department of Finance, also contributed an opinion piece that was published in the Columbia Law School’s Blog on Corporations and the Capital Market (To Read)

The piece was also featured on Bloomberg. Prof Zaldokas wrote about his research on the influence TV ads had on retail investors’ decisions to buy or sell stocks. This research could be the first academic research that documented the causal effect that TV ads caused on investor interest.
