The COVID-19 outbreak has posed a number of challenges and uncertainties for many, including our alumni working in different industries. These abrupt changes and disruptions may bring stress and anxiety that can affect our mental and physical health. In view of this, the HKUST Business School launched a new series of wellness webinars that focused on different aspects of our health.

On March 19, we invited professional trainers from Mind HK, a registered charity committed to improving awareness and understanding of mental health, to deliver an online lunch webinar “Managing Mental Health during the Coronavirus Outbreak”.

At the webinar, alumni participants learned about various mental health issues, the challenges we faced, and tips to manage stress and improve our wellbeing during these extraordinary times. Apart from discussing the negative emotions that arose from social distancing, participants also interacted with each other to explore creative ways to handle these emotions. It was a fruitful event where everyone came out more confident in maintaining their mental health during these challenging times.
