HKUST Business School marked another milestone in advancing family business and entrepreneurship education across Asia through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Cambodia University of Technology and Science (CamTech University). This strategic partnership aims to strengthen academic cooperation, professional development, and executive education between the two institutions.

To commemorate the partnership, a workshop titled “Cambodian Family Business: Navigating Legacy across Generations” brought together 90 government officials, academic leaders and business executives for a dynamic discussion on sustaining family business legacies and embracing generational change in the Asia-Pacific region.

Panelists (from second left) Mr. Leng KANG, CEO of ISI Group, Mr. Thierry TEA, Vice President of OCIC Group, and Prof. FONG Yuk-Fai, Associate Dean of HKUST Business School, shared insights at the workshop moderated by Mr. Siriwat CHHEM, Co-founder and President of AI Forum (first left) .

Recognizing Cambodia’s rapid economic growth and vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, our School is launching a series of Executive Education programs tailored for family business leaders and entrepreneurs. Developed in close collaboration with CamTech University, the programs will cover key topics such as succession planning, governance, family office management, and general management subjects.

Family businesses are a cornerstone of many Asian economies, including Cambodia and Hong Kong. As Hong Kong continues to emerge as a regional hub for family offices, our School sees strong potential in engaging multi-generational Cambodian families in its programs. This initiative aims to build meaningful partnerships with Cambodia to promote knowledge exchange and foster deeper ties between the two economies.

The MoU was signed by Prof. FONG Yuk-Fai (front row, left), Associate Dean of HKUST Business School, and Prof. Phirom LENG (front row, right), Vice President for Academic Affairs at CamTech University. The signing ceremony was also witnessed by Prof. HUI Kai-Lung (back row, third left), Acting Dean of HKUST Business School, and Prof. Sothy KHIENG (back row, middle), Founding President of CamTech University, and other representatives of the two universities.
