Our undergraduate students have won multiple awards at the Marshall International Case Competition 2024. Organized by the University of Southern California between February 12-19, the competition saw 20 teams from top business schools around the world compete head-to-head in a 5-hour case and a 24-hour case. Our team not only won the first runner-up but also the “People's Choice” award voted by the audience, while team member Michelle LAM was recognized as the “Best Presenter”.

The team, consisting of (from left) Michelle LAM (Year 4, Global Business & Management), Daria CHUNG (Year 2, Global Business), Bella CHONG (Year 4, Global Business & Information Systems), and Joshua LUK (Year 4, Quantitative Finance), underwent over a month of training with the guidance and support of their advisor, Professor Allen HUANG, Associate Dean (UG Programs), and Professor at the Department of Accounting.
Testament to Enthusiasm and Positive Spirit

Another team formed by (from left) Tommy WONG (Year 2, Global Business), Sarah LAI (Year 4, Marketing & Management), Angel WONG (Year 4, Global Business & Management), and Stanley HUNG (Year 4, Global Business & Finance) took home the Ka Pai Cup and got into the semi-final in the Wildcard round at the Champions Trophy Case Competition hosted by the University of Auckland!
The Ka Pai Cup, first introduced to Champions Trophy in 2012 by the organizer, recognizes and rewards the team that displays the most enthusiasm and positive spirit throughout the week. Ka Pai is the Māori word for “good”. The team finished first place on Day 3 and was the first runner-up overall in their division, thanks to their intensive training including three grueling 5-hour case cracking sessions, their team advisor Professor Emily NASON, Associate Professor of Business Education, and the HKUST Case Analysis Team alumni for their great support!
