The Executive Education Office was thrilled to receive the first overseas study trip from Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO in November, after the two-year global pandemic. The five-day program brought 42 EMBA students and the program team from SKOLKOVO to our beautiful Clear Water Bay Campus.

The international module in Innovation Ecosystem started with an overview of the innovation ecosystems and innovative mindset and culture in China and Asia by guest lecturers Mr. Jeffrey TOWSON and Professor YANG Xiaodong. It was followed by a deep dive into different disruptive technologies by Elman Family Professor of Business and Senior Associate Dean Professor HUI Kai Lung, and the group also paid visits to Cyberport and our Entrepreneurship Centre where they had fruitful dialogues with practitioners and start-ups. Their learning journey was crystalized with their final group project presentations.

The learning experience was meticulously designed to meet clients’ expectations. Much effort was put into lining up different parties, and we were grateful for our Kellogg-HKUST EMBA alumna Ms. Honnus CHEUNG’s support in sharing her entrepreneurial experience with the group. Another innovation we experimented with was the new experiential ‘weiqi’ workshop to facilitate participants’ experience and understanding of the Chinese culture and mindset in the program, and it was very well-received.
