Last month, the HKUST Business School launched the new Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program. This distinctive program is specially designed for motivated leaders, senior executives, and entrepreneurs to enhance their research capabilities and develop deep knowledge and innovative insights for positive business and societal impacts.
Commencing in September 2021, the four-year part-time program offers core courses and electives across a wide range of disciplines taught in a 4-day modular basis, including weekends in 16 modules. The curriculum requires students to complete 55 credits. The first two years focus on completing coursework and a thesis proposal. And the final two years focus on thesis research and short residential programs.
Inaugural Online Information Session and Research Talk
Shortly after its launch, the program organized an inaugural online information session on November 3. Interested candidates met Program Academic Director Prof. ZHENG Shaohui and Program Advisor Prof. Steven DEKREY and learned how the program can help them transform innovative insights into positive business and societal impacts through rigorous applied research.
Prof. Utpal BHATTACHARYA, Chair Professor of the Department of Finance, was invited as the first speaker of the “DBA Research Talk” series to share insightful ideas and findings on his research “Irrational Investors” with participants.
The DBA program seeks an exclusive group of senior executives who share HKUST’s aspiration for research excellence to commit to this professional doctoral training with our faculty and their peers for meaningful practice-based research.
To find out more, please join our next information session on December 9, 2020. Prof KOH Tat Koon, Associate Professor of Department of ISOM, will deliver on “Engaging Inactive Customers - A Digital Marketing Experiment with a Fortune Global Company”. More: http://www.dba.ust.hk/
