Congratulations to our undergraduate team for clinching the top spot in the CFA Institute Research Challenge Hong Kong Local Final 2023-24!

Our students competed against 22 participating teams from universities in Hong Kong and Macau and became one of the top five finalist teams, who attended the Local Final Presentation. They presented their analysis and recommendations to a professional panel of judges, followed by a career panel sharing from seasoned industry practitioners on career development in the financial sectors.

Our WBB Champion Team will represent Hong Kong in the Sub-Regional Round of the competition. We wish them every success!

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a global competition designed to promote best practices in research among the next generation of analysts through hands-on mentoring and intensive training in company analysis. In its 20th consecutive year, the Challenge is intended to complement university curriculums by simulating the real-world experience of an equity analyst.

Chartwell Value Investment Challenge

The School is pleased to co-organize the Annual Value Investing Challenge with Chartwell Capital for the seventh consecutive year. The competition provides real-world knowledge and insight, bringing to life asset management for young investors. Investment workshops and tutorials are also hosted by Chartwell’s investment team for the participants.

This year, in celebrating the power of value investing, ESG, and stakeholder engagement, the Challenge incorporated sustainability and corporate engagement to acknowledge real-world practice. Five out of 40 participating teams made it to the final round.
