We are pleased to report that the proposals submitted by Assistant Professors Koh Tat Koon and Wang Jing of the Department of Information Systems, Business Statistics and Operations Management (ISOM), and Sam Garg of the Department of Management have received the Early Career Scheme (ECS) 2014/15 funding approval from the Research Grants Council (RGC).
The three funded projects are as follows:
"Impacts of Problem Familiarity, Example Familiarity, and Problem-Example Relevance in Crowd-Based Design Contests" by Koh Tat Koon (ISOM)
"Examining Gender Inequality in Online Labor Markets: The Role of Occupational Segregation and Online Reputation" by Wang Jing (ISOM)
"Venture Boards: Impact on Innovation" by Sam Garg (MGMT)
The ECS Scheme is intended to nurture junior academics and to prepare them for a career in education and research. All proposals are subject to a rigorous peer review process via the RGC’s dedicated panels supported by an international network of expert reviewers.
