A business plan by MBA students, which aims to accelerate the use of solar energy by licensing a patented technology enabling manufacturers to produce next generation solar panels, has won two prizes at the HKUST 2013 One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition.

The team, whose members include three MBA students, Clement Dieudonne, Simon Zhu and Nicky Loh, took the grand prize and the Elevator Pitch Prize at the competition.

A total of 85 teams competed at the event, held in Hong Kong in May. An international judging panel comprising leading executives, professional investors and entrepreneurial academics selected 12 finalists. Each of the finalists made a 15-minute business plan presentation, after which four teams were selected for the funding round presentations.
