Awarded by: Joint University Outstanding Marketing Award
A team of four first-year undergraduate students has won the Joint University Outstanding Marketing Award 2012-1013, beating more than 450 other competitors from Hong Kong tertiary institutions. The team also wins the Best Presentation Award.
The winning team included Timothy Chau Kan-chiu, Jun Kyu Lee, Charmaine Ng Cheuk-wing and Ricardo Tomas Wong, who are all first-year BBA students.
They had to write a two-page summary of their marketing plan then were selected, alongside nine other teams. This involved running a one-day roadshow and producing an advertising video. The HKUST team also made creative use of social media, such as YouTube and Facebook.
The reward for their efforts included a cash prize of HK$11,000 and internship opportunities with the competition’s sponsor, Jetso.
