HKUST Business School continues to promote experiential learning, hosting diverse international postgraduate cohorts on campus, while taking students into the Greater Bay Area for industry exposure.

Hosting International UG, MBA, EMBA, and DBA Groups

This past quarter, the Executive Education Office welcomed over 100 participants from four prestigious international institutions, spanning continents and generations—from undergraduates to seasoned doctoral executives.

The diversity was remarkable. The 57 postgraduates from Durham-emlyon Global DBA and ESSEC Hybrid EExecutive MBA brought together professionals representing Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East, while the 30 undergraduates from the University of Michigan and the 16 MBA students from Peru’s UTEC added further global flavor to our campus.

Catering to such varied audiences, our team curated tailored learning journeys for each group. Topics ranged from Doing Business in Asia and China's Political and Economic Environment to AI and Data-driven Decision Making, complemented by interactive Wei Qi workshops, corporate visits to industry leaders such as Google, BYD, Lee Kum Kee, and SmartMore, and cultural highlights including Hong Kong horseracing and hotpot nights.

The seamless delivery across all four programs reflects HKUST’s professionalism and depth in designing impactful immersion experiences. We look forward to welcoming more overseas groups, continuing to showcase the very best of HKUST and Hong Kong.

Exploring Guangzhou’s Financial Powerhouses

As the Greater Bay Area continues to expand, the BBA Finance and BSc in Quantitative Finance Programs, in collaboration with the BSc in Sustainable and Green Finance, organized three one-day study trips to leading financial institutions in Guangzhou.

Each trip featured a balanced itinerary. In the morning, students participated in team-building activities, including kart racing, amusement arcades, archery and VR rides. In the afternoon, they visited renowned financial institutions for office tours and exchange. The company visits including to GF Securities, Guangzhou Finance Holdings, and Taikang Life Insurance were supported by the HKSAR Government’s Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Promotion Centre and the Guangzhou Finance Professionals Association.

Company representatives share insights into corporate operations, talent development, and industry trends with students, followed by networking sessions.

Through these engagements, students gained first-hand exposure to Guangzhou’s evolving financial landscape, while strengthening their career readiness and regional outlook.
