The School rejoiced in a historic achievement on December 10 when hundreds gathered to celebrate the world no.1 ranking of the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA program for the fifth straight year.

The KH EMBA Program, a partnership between the HKUST Business School and the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University, topped the recently released Financial Times EMBA Ranking 2013, marking the program's fifth consecutive year and sixth time in the No.1 spot of the chart.

HKUST Council Vice Chairman Mr Martin Tang and President of the University Professor Tony Chan officiated at the celebration held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Central. Other members of the officiating party included Acting Dean of HKUST Business School Professor Kalok Chan, Board Member of HKUST Business School Advisory Council Mr Louis McDaniel Bowen, Senior Associate Dean of the School Professor Jiatao Li, Associate Deans Professor Xu Yan and Professor Emily Nason, Academic Director of KH EMBA Program Professor Vidhan Goyal, and Program Director of Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Program Ms Judy Au.

Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Kalok Chan expressed his gratitude for the hard work of all the faculty and staff, and the great support and contribution from students, alumni, patrons, friends and the business community.

“The program’s success has come not only from the strategic collaboration of the two schools, but also from the innovation and energy of the KH members, and more importantly, their persistent efforts to achieve the highest standards,” he added.

The program was launched in 1998 as a unique East-West partnership to offer premium executive education for international talent. The program first entered the Financial Times global rankings in 2003, just five years old, and placed ninth in the world that year. It climbed to No. 2 in 2005 and first took No.1 spot in 2007. It was also the first time a Hong Kong-based program had topped an international rankings chart.
