Last month, HKUST announced a new partnership with Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) to pioneer a new Sustainable Financeelective course for our MBA students. The partnership marks HKEX’s first collaboration with an Asian university to offer an executive education program in the field.

Launching in Spring 2022, the “Sustainable Finance with Business Practices” elective course is specially designed to help students gain insightful skills and practical knowledge in innovative practices, strategic planning, investment products across asset classes, and more related topics.

“We look forward to sharing our knowledge and practical experience in the capital markets with our future leaders. Together, we have a net zero future to win,” remarked Ms Grace HUI, Managing Director and Head of Green and Sustainable Finance, Markets Division of HKEX.

Guided by experienced faculty from HKUST and experts from HKEX, the course aims to fill the talent gap in Hong Kong and help advance the city’s sustainable agenda to become Asia’s green financial hub. “Our business education goes beyond contribution to the economy as it also addresses the imminent need for a positive change in our society and environment,” said Professor CHEN Tai-yuan, Associate Dean and MBA Program Director of HKUST Business School.
