25 Evolving Preferences in Virtual Assets Acquisitions Over time, there has been a noticeable shift in the interest and acquisition methods for virtual assets, reflecting changing perceptions and priorities towards virtual assets among the adult population in Hong Kong. Bitcoin is significantly more popular than other types of virtual assets, with over 70% of respondents expressing interest in holding it across all three surveys. Interest in Bitcoin has shown an upward trend, growing by 7.25 percentage points from the first to the third survey. Specifically, the percentage of respondents interested in holding Bitcoin increased from 73.48% in the first survey to 78.66% in the second survey and further to 80.73% in the third survey. On the other hand, NFTs have shown a downward trend, decreasing by 11.41 percentage points from the first to the third survey. In the first survey, almost a quarter of respondents expressed interest in holding NFTs, but it dropped to 16.92% in the second survey, and further down to 13.01% in the third survey. Figure 23.
