15 Figure 7. Respondents’ Experience with Holding Virtual Assets II. EXPERIENCE WITH VIRTUAL ASSETS INVESTMENTS Respondents who are aware of virtual assets generally have little experience with them. A majority (74.06%) indicated they have never held virtual assets. Among respondents with experience, more than half (53.50%) held virtual assets for the first time between one and five years ago. The most common channel of acquiring virtual assets was online platforms (e.g., Binance, OKX), as indicated by 63.22% of respondents. Other channels included transferring from friends and family (14.59%), mining (13.68%), receiving them as payment for goods or services (12.46%), and purchasing at dedicated kiosks such as ATM-like machines (10.18%).
