Dear friends of HKUST Business School,
As I begin my role as Dean of HKUST Business School, I am excited to share our news and stories with you for the first time.
I would like to thank the many HKUST colleagues, students, and alumni who have welcomed me so warmly in recent weeks. I hope to meet many of you in person at our upcoming events. The energy of our community, and the ambition around what we can achieve together, is genuinely energizing and sets a strong tone for the period ahead.
Rooted in a STEM-focused university, HKUST Business School sits at the intersection of science, technology, and business. At a time of accelerating technological change, this gives us a clear comparative advantage. Let’s seize this moment to advance frontier knowledge that will shape the future of business, and nurture the next generation of leaders.
As we move forward, I want to express my sincere gratitude to Prof. HUI Kai-Lung for his service as Acting Dean. His dedication played a pivotal role in strengthening the School’s partnerships and intellectual presence. Several initiatives featured in this issue were launched under his leadership, including talent-development and new strategic projects. His contributions, along with other stories featured here, highlight the many ways our faculty are laying strong foundations for what comes next.
With Chinese New Year around the corner - a season of new beginnings, I extend my warm wishes to you and your loved ones for a healthy and fulfilling year. I look forward to connecting with you soon as we build the School’s future together.
Prof. Frederik ANSEEL
Dean
